12th post

This week in calculus we went over everything we have learned this year for a test. We took the test Wednesday and Thursday. Friday I did not go to school so I do not have a clue on what we did in class that day. But some things I still understand are linearization, tangent lines, and related rates. The steps for linearization are:
1. Pick out the equation
2. f(x)+f`(x)dx
3. Figure out your dx
4. Figure out your x
5. Plug in everything you get
The steps for finding the tangent line are:
1. Take the derivative of the equation like normal
2. Plug in the x value which gives you your slope
3. Use the slope you get and the point given and plug into slope intercept form (y-y1)=slope(x-x1)*If a point is not given and only an x value is given plug the x value into the original which will give you a y value creating a point.

The steps for related rates are:
1. Pick out all variables
2. Pick out all equations
3. Pick out what you are looking for
4. Sketch a graph and label
5. Create an equation with your variables
6. Take the derivative respecting time
7. Substitute back into the derivative
8. Solve
For what I do not know, as I said I was not a school Friday so I have no idea what we did. If someone can help me by letting me know what I missed, I would greatly appreciate it.
